PEHOA Board Meeting Minutes

PLANTATION ESTATES BOARD MEETING

JUNE 27, 2012

Attending- Duane Jastremski, President; Grant Sparks, Vice President; Chris Rowland, Treasurer; Alice Aurilio, Secretary; Julie Brown, Member-at-Large and Whip Wilson, Member

Duane called the meeting to order at 7:10 P.M.

Discussion concerning the collection of the Special Assessment was initiated.  As of this date, 22 members have paid a total of $7,200 (24 lots) and an additional $400 was contributed to the road fund.  Members owing the assessment will be sent an e-mail or mail reminder.  The topic of members desiring to contribute additional monies to the road fund was raised, but was tabled until the end of July to see how the collection of assessment funds turned out.

Whip stated that he thought the Board should go ahead and get the road paved now.  This idea was disapproved by the Board.  With a little less than half of the members paying the assessment, at this time, this is not considered a prudent decision. This would mean that the Association's funds would have to be tapped into and this could leave our funds in jeopardy if members do not pay or do not pay on time.

Grant will call the pavers to see how long it will take them to get mobilized and paving once we call to give them the go ahead.  Also, with oil prices declining, this may work in our favor and get more bang for our buck.

Duane asked if there were other concerns.  Whip stated that the speed bumps are an aggravation for some folks.  Grant and Duane stated that resurfacing would soften the second one, but there is not enough money to reach the third bump, which seems to be more severe than the others.  The bottom line is, the speed bumps were put in place as a safety measure due to speeders and close calls.  While there may not have been any more close calls, there are still speeders.

With no further discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 8:05 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Alice Aurilio,

PEHOA Secretary#

Special Assessment

June 30, 2012

This message is a follow-up to the invoice dated May 10, 2012, concerning the Special Assessment to maintain Plantation Drive.  As you know, the members of Plantation Estates Homeowners' Association (PEHOA) approved the Special Assessment during the Annual Meeting held April 28, 2012.  Each lot owner is responsible for paying $300.00 per lot owned by July 1, 2012, but no later than July 31, 2012, without penalty.  Interest payments in the amount of 1 ½ % will begin accruing on August 1, 2012.

If paying this Assessment in one payment will cause a hardship for you and your family, the Board could discuss the option of a payment schedule.  If this is necessary, please contact Duane Jastremski, PEHOA President by phone at 910-326-7790 or by e-mail at dbjastremski@hotmail.com by July 5, 2012.
