PEHOA Board Meeting
March 19, 2012
Attending: Duane Jastremski, President; Grant Sparks, Treasurer; Alice Aurilio, Vice President and member Whip Wilson.
Not in Attendance: Vicki Brown, Secretary and Roger Brown, Member-at-Large
Duane called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Alice read the minutes from the December 5, 2011, Board meeting. No corrections or changes were made.
Grant gave the Treasurer's report. Grammer's dues are still unpaid and interest has been added for a total of $209.14 as of April 1, 2012. A demand letter will be sent requesting payment and detailing the steps that could be taken for nonpayment. Dues on the former O'Brien property are still outstanding for 2011 and 2012. Alice will call the realtor handling the property. (Alice called the realtor and a closing date has been set for early June, if all goes as planned. She asked about the 2011 dues and the realtor said she would see when the bank took possession of the property and the amount of collectable dues would be prorated.) Grant stated that there is $11,300 in checking and $10,000 was put into a CD with an interest rate of .45%. Expenses since December included a check for $7.45 to Alice for the purchase of two wreaths for the front entrance. Electric bills for $128.62 were paid for each month of January and February. As of March, the Association had $11,300 in checking and $10,000 in the CD. Some money leftover from contributions given to help pay for mowing the former O'Brien property were also deposited. Dues payments from Keel, Lawson and J. Drumm had yet to be deposited. Three members owe interest from delinquent dues payments and Alice will call, e-mail and/or mail a reminder that payment is due.
The Annual meeting will take place April 28, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at the Common Area. A rain date has been set for May 5, 2012, same time and same place. Notices will be sent.
The Board will solicit bids from any PEHOA member who would like to rework the front entrance signs- repaint, replace rusted nails, etc. This is an effort to reduce the amount of money needed to have new signs made.
Members living in Plantation Estates and not providing their e-mail to the Board will no longer receive paper copies of information. Information can be accessed by visiting the blog at http://plantationestatespehoa.blogspot.com or contacting a friend in the neighborhood.
The project of completing the resurfacing of Plantation Drive was raised. We spend approximately $6,000 per year on operating funds out of the $10,000 raised by dues. At this rate, it is a very slow process. Grant will contact Jacksonville Paving and Onslow Grading and Paving to see what we can get done with the money we have available.
Grant will see if Lydia Hellams would be able to audit the Association's financial records prior to the Annual Meeting so its status can be given to the members.
The meeting was adjourned by Duane at 7:57 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Alice Aurilio,
Acting Secretary#
